A standard GA4 property supports 25 user-scoped, 50 event-scoped, and 10 item-scoped custom dimensions, plus 50 custom metrics and 5 calculated metrics. Treating every B2B concept as a new user-scoped dimension can therefore become limiting. Amplitude plan and add-on caveats.
“Full platform” does not mean unlimited advanced usage on every plan. Free and Plus include limited access to several products; Accounts, unlimited or expanded experimentation, expanded replay, Guides and Surveys, and Activation packages are primarily Growth or Enterprise options.
On August 11, 2026, Amplitude's headline Free card advertised 10,000 monthly replays while its same-page feature table listed 1,000. Treat the allowance as unresolved and verify the live calculator or contract. Also verify included limits, retention, and terms for the intended event volume.
Why GA4 is not automatically zero-cost.
The standard product may have no license charge, but a dependable implementation can still require tag management, engineering, consent configuration, ecommerce instrumentation, identity work, governance, QA, BigQuery, BI modeling, external replay or experimentation tools, and ongoing analytical maintenance.
